The Seventh-day Adventist Church in Southeast Mexico opened its new headquarter office during a special ceremony held in Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico, on Oct. 22, 2017. Dozens of top church administrators from across the Inter-American Division (IAD), along with local church leaders and members, witnessed the ribbon cutting ceremony and toured the new facility.
“This building is a testimony to the gospel,” said pastor Isaías Espinoza, president of the church in Southeast Mexico, pointing out the New Testament scripture written on the exterior wall and the large, three-story cross near the entrance.
Construction engineer Carlos Alberto Castellanos said the structure of the building was designed to “magnify the name of God and the strengthening of His work.”
“We praise God for His direction and goodness in the purchase of the property, the process of construction and for the message that the new building will project in the city,” said Pastor Israel Leito, president of the church in Inter-America.
Pastor Leito challenged those who work in the new office to keep their lives as beautiful as the building with the power of the Holy Spirit and the grace of Jesus.
The new facility has three floors and a parking garage in the lower level. The first floor displays an exhibit of Adventist Painter Elfred Lee paintings, a reading room, a Hope Media radio and television studio, and an auditorium that seats 138.
The second floor houses offices, an employee’s lounge and a small conference room. The third floor includes a large conference room and administrative offices, as well as a gym.
There are nearly 98,000 Seventh-day Adventists in Southeast Mexico worshiping in 1,185 churches and congregations.
