An Adventist university in Mexico’s poorest state is finding that free root canals and eyeglasses are softening the hearts of a neighboring community that was once so hostile toward the school that it seized a chunk of its land.
Some 135 teachers and students from Linda Vista Adventist University treated hundreds of people in Rincón Chamula, a community of 1,500 people located 1.5 miles (3 kilometers) from the campus.

Violet Moss Brown, the oldest Jamaican had a group of Seventh-day Adventists spellbound with century old stories as they celebrated Mother’s day and praised God for her long life.
The approximately twenty individuals, who came from the Seventh-Adventist Church in Duanvale, Trelawny – the same community where 115 year-old Mrs. Moss Brown was born – were all amazed with her wit and sharp mind.

Seventh-day Adventists in Puerto Rico came together to contribute to the construction of the first church built on the campus of the 53-year-old Antillean Adventist University.
More than 3,000 church leaders and members from across the island gathered on the campus on Apr. 26 for a special celebration to witness historic event and participate in spiritual moments, reflections on blessings and fun activities for the family.

The Seventh-day Adventist Church in El Salvador recently celebrated the training success of hundreds of its leaders and members who have been auditing the church books across hundreds of local churches in the country.
More than 1,700 secretarial team members from all 708 churches gathered at the Centro Internacional de Ferias y Convenciones in San Salvador to participate in a special festival highlighting the many strides achieved in membership auditing in every church region.

More than 350 communicators from throughout the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Puerto Rico gathered last weekend to broaden their knowledge in communication and technology.
The event was the third annual territory-wide certification program organized by the church in East Puerto Rico to equip communicators with 30 hours of training.

Shockwaves from Nepal’s powerful earthquake reached as far as the Caribbean island of Puerto Rico, whose Seventh-day Adventist community has a special connection with the south Asian country.
Within days of the April 25 earthquake, Adventist leaders in Puerto Rico responded by calling two news conferences to raise funds for Adventist-operated Scheer Memorial Hospital, whose chief medical officer and administrator, Fernando Cardona, is a Puerto Rican native.

Seventh-day Adventist leaders are happy with the results of one of its largest health expo events held at an upscale shopping mall in Cartago, Costa Rica, last weekend.
The event, held at the Terra Mall in one of the largest metropolitan areas in Cartago, saw more than 300 people participating in a dozen set-up stations on the eight natural remedies needed to live a healthier life: water, rest, exercise, sunshine, air, nutrition, temperance, and hope in God.

The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) in the Dominican Republic trained some 209 Seventh-day Adventist ministers in emergency response and community service earlier this month in preparation to the hurricane season which begins in June.
The two-day certification program held Apr. 6-7 at the Najayo Adventist Campgrounds in the San Cristobal province, was the first intensive training meant to equip church pastors to manage security and communicate soundly during future emergencies.
