The Seventh-day Adventist Church in the Inter-American Division’s (IAD) headquarter office began a series of cyber security awareness trainings for its employees yesterday as part of a larger strategy to protect both the organization and employees against online attacks. The training brought more than 75 administrators and church employees in Miami, Florida, to be briefed on cyber security measures, fraud and phishing attacks.

Nearly 150 administrators, departmental directors, and lay members met for a day of meetings in Miami, Florida, on May 9.

Top Seventh-day Adventist administrators and board members of the Inter-American Division’s (IAD) Executive Committee held the first day of mid-year business meetings via video conference this week at the IAD Headquarters Office in Miami, Florida, United States.
The May 3 meeting became the first of its kind where top level administrators from its 24 major church regions, or unions, were connected on video conference system to take actions regarding plans, upcoming initiatives and events across the territory.

A memorandum of understanding signed last week between administrators of Health City Cayman Islands and Adventist Healthcare Services Inter-America (AHS-IA) will seek to provide free cardiac surgeries to children and minimally-invasive surgeries at affordable costs across Adventist-operated hospitals in the Caribbean.
Health City Cayman Islands is a JCI accredited state-of-the-art tertiary care hospital located in Grand Cayman which provides world class affordable medical care through centers of excellence that deliver health care.

Nearly 300 church leaders from across the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the Inter-American Division (IAD) met in Miami, Florida, last week to expand on the church’s “Lord Transform Me” evangelism initiative and to go over additional plans and activities to be carried out during the next five years.
Leaders from the IAD’s 24 unions, or church regions, took the time to focus on their role in promoting a true transformation only available through God’s Holy Spirit.

The Seventh-day Adventist Church baptized 4,012 new members into the church during a historic evangelistic celebration in Caracas, Venezuela, on April 16, 2016. More than 20,000 witnessed the baptisms in the metropolitan city’s Estadio Universitario de Caracas (Caracas University Stadium) marking the culmination of eight-months of intense evangelistic efforts across the East Venezuela Union.
Some traveled for more than 36 hours by boat, air, car or busloads to take part in the day’s festivities, recommit to sharing hope in their communities, and offer prayers for government leaders and the people in Venezuela.

Top church leaders will highlight the results of evangelism efforts driven by thousands of pastors and active church members during the last three months as well as intensive community outreach done in Caracas.

The Adventist Hospital in Haiti, Hopital Adventiste d’Haiti (HAH), celebrated 35 years of providing health care services with the inauguration of a state-of-the-art surgical suite, a new laboratory and the installation of a private multi-med clinic, in Diquini, Carrefour, near Port-au-Prince on Apr. 1, 2016.
The event drew top Haiti government officials, officials from Loma Linda University (LLU) and Adventist Health International (AHI), Florida Hospital, surgeons, and community members. Many in attendance were witnesses to the hospital’s humble beginnings in the early 1980s.

Top Seventh-day Adventist leaders from throughout the Inter-American Division (IAD) prayed recently on the shores of the Jordan River, which borders Israel, the West Bank, and Jordan, as they prepared to bring in over one million new members during the next five-year period.
The special prayer ceremony took place after 10 days of training in Israel, which gathered 75 IAD administrators and evangelists last month.
