Inter-America’s ASi Convention Challenges Delegates to Strive for Wellness and Greater Service

Hundreds of Seventh-day Adventist business owners, lawyers and health professionals from across Inter-America were challenged to move forward in faith to expand the mission of the church in their businesses and communities, as the 16th Adventist-Laymen’s Services and Industries annual convention drew to a close in Panama City, Panama, on Aug. 19, 2017.

“You must have spiritual confidence in who God is, confidence in who you are in God, confidence in His power and confidence in the gifts He has given you,” said Dr. C. Wesley Knight, assistant professor of preaching and religion at Oakwood University, during the final charge of the event.

Inter-America’s 16th ASi’s Convention Opens Focusing Members to Wellness and Service

Inter-America’s Adventist Laymen’s Services and Industries (ASi) Annual Convention kicked off last night in Panama City, Panama, challenging Adventist business owners, lawyers and health professionals from across the vast territory to trust God’s providence and commit to seeking wellness in the church and the community.

ASi is an organization of the Seventh-day Adventist laypeople involved in professions, industry, education and/or services and exists to challenge, nurture and provide experience in sharing Christ in the marketplace as well as supporting the church’s worldwide mission.

Long-Standing IAD Vice President Receives Honorary Doctorate Degree in Jamaica

Northern Caribbean University (NCU) conferred an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity Degree on Pastor Leon B. Wellington during the institution’s 94th Commencement (Graduation) ceremonies on campus in Mandeville, Jamaica, Aug. 13, 2017. Wellington, who recently retired from serving as vice president of the Inter-American Division (IAD), was honored for his service to religion and his contribution to Jamaica.

Public Campus Ministries Strengthens Across Mexico and Central America

Hundreds of Seventh-day Adventists studying in non-Adventist universities in parts of Mexico and Central America recommitted to sharing hope on their campuses and communities recently, thanks to an initiative put in place by the church’s Public Campus Ministries. The initiative is designed to establish centers of Christian influence in universities not operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

International Conference Reaffirms God as Creator Through Scientific Evidences

Seventh-day Adventist educators, ministers and administrators from across the Inter-American Division (IAD) reaffirmed their commitment to teach, preach and share the biblical account of the origins of the world and its theological implications during a ten-day Faith and Science Conference held in Montemorelos, Mexico, July 20-30, 2017.

More than 500 delegates reviewed scientific evidences with some 35 Bible scholars and scientific experts to expand their knowledge of the natural world to share in classrooms, institutions, churches and around the world.

In Inter-America, Church Strengthens Special Needs Ministries During First Territory-Wide Congress for the Hearing Impaired

More than two hundred deaf persons, interpreters and special needs ministries directors from across the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Inter-America gathered for the first territory-wide Congress for the Hearing Impaired.

The five-day event, held at Montemorelos Univeristy in North Mexico earlier this month, sought to reassure deaf members and friends that they are valuable to God and the church, and provided training to church leaders on strengthening special needs ministries in churches and communities.

Faith and Science Conference Begins with a Focus on the Holy Scriptures

Hundreds of Seventh-day Adventist school teachers, university professors and ministers from across the Inter-American Division (IAD) gathered at the opening of a Faith and Science Conference in Montemorelos University in Mexico last night. The event is the most extensive of its kind ever organized in the IAD territory.

The international conference brings nearly 400 delegates from Mexico, Central American, the Caribbean and parts of the South American Division for the next 10 days to be reaffirmed on creationism through the study of the Bible and nature.

Inter-America’s 16th Annual ASi Convention set to open in Panama

This year’s Adventist-laymen’s Services and Industries (ASi) Convention promises to gather more than 400 Adventist business owners and professionals from across the Inter-American Division (IAD) territory in Panama City, Panama, Aug. 16-19, 2017. It promises to be the largest ASi convention yet, organizers said.

Themed “Committed to Wellness and Service,” the four-day event seeks to inspire and reaffirm ASi chapter members and attendees of their commitment to sharing Christ in their businesses and communities in support of the mission of the church.

SeLD Conference Empowers Hundreds of Church Leaders in Inter-America

Inter-America’s Segment Leadership Development (SeLD) Conference gathered more than 600 leaders from the Seventh-day Adventist Church across its 24 major regions for three days of training in Miami, Florida, July 10-12, 2017.

Top church leaders and event organizers challenged newly appointed and seasoned church administrators, pastors, educators, local church elders, and department heads employed in the Inter-American Division (IAD) territory to become humble, visionary leaders, united and focused in fulfilling the mission of the church.

Inter-American Leaders Encouraged to Stand Firm for God and the Church

The Seventh-day Adventist Church in Inter-America began its largest territory-wide leadership training conference tonight with an opening ceremony that featured top church leaders challenging the attendees to stand firm for the Lord.

Inter-American Division President Pastor Israel Leito, reflecting on the condition of the world at the time of Isaiah, (Isaiah 8:12-13), encouraged the hundreds of leaders to make God the anchor of their life as they serve Him and the church.
