Thousands of Seventh-day Adventist young people from around the world will step out into their neighborhoods and communities on Sabbath, March 19, 2016, to engage in spreading kindness, compassion and hope.
The annual special day coined as Global Youth Day, is sponsored by the General Conference’s youth ministries department and motivates young people to get out of their comfort zones to “Be the Sermon” as they show the love of Jesus in their communities.

A Seventh-day Adventist scholar has cautioned attendees of a major international conference in Italy that religious freedom cannot exist in countries where the government has a special relationship with a single religious group.
For many people today, this issue holds more than just academic interest. More than two dozen countries of the world — including Costa Rica, Argentina, Greece and Bulgaria — acknowledge either Roman Catholicism or Eastern Orthodoxy as either the official state religion or a state-supported religion.

Andrea Luxton, president-elect of Andrews University, found herself at wit’s end several years ago while working as an educator in Europe.
“I had to deal with a very challenging situation that left me totally drained,” Luxton said. “The period ahead looked very bleak, and I just wasn’t sure I had the strength left to deal with it. I needed some help.”

The Seventh-day Adventist family and the faculty, staff and students of Northern Caribbean University (NCU) is mourning the sudden passing of Dr. Teran Milford, late Professor and Interim Dean of the of the College of Education and Leadership at NCU.

Dr. Milford died March 3, 2016, after he collapsed during his regular morning walk. He was 65.

More than 300 community members and elected officials gathered to break ground for a new $331 million Washington Adventist Hospital in White Oak, Maryland.
The hospital, scheduled to open in early 2019, will replace an aging facility built in 1907 just 6 miles (10 kilometers) away in Takoma Park.

The Seventh-day Adventist Church in the Cayman Islands hosted this year’s national service to launch Honouring Women Month kick off at the Kings Seventh-day Adventist Church in Grand Cayman, on Mar. 5, 2016. The Honouring Women Month, comprises a month-long program of activities organized in conjunction with the observance of International’s Women’s Day.
Premier of the Cayman Islands Hon. Alden McLaughlin praised women for being “the most powerful prayer warriors,” he said. “Prayer develops powerful thinking.”

A Seventh-day Adventist school in Nicaragua was featured on national television as the first secondary school in the nation to integrate digital technology in the classroom. Students at Colegio Vocacional Adventista de Nicaragua, or Adventist Vocational School in Nicaragua, (COVANIC) began using digital boards, and tablets as the school year began earlier last month.
Channel 2 News Media, one of the largest television stations in the country, featured the story in a 5-minute report.
