Dozens of needy families from several communities in the city of Barquisimeto, Venezuela, benefited from a special program and dinner thanks to Seventh-day Adventists who donated a meal earlier last month. The activity was part of a church initiative to offer a day of kindness and compassion together with the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) in West Venezuela to those in need throughout the region especially in October.

An Adventist Pastor was killed after returning home from leading an evangelistic campaign last week in Guatemala.
Noe Alfredo Gonzalez, 54, had just finished preaching in the three churches in the Hierbabuena Village, in Chiquimula, in the east region of Guatemala on Oct. 23, 2014, when he and his wife were attacked by masked assailants while driving home on their motorcycle.

Head of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Jamaica, Pastor Everett Brown challenged Christian men and those in the wider society to be agents of positive change in society and not just agents of procreation.
In addressing the gathering of approximately 3,000, most of the them men, during a Men’s convention at the NCU Gymnatorium in Mandeville earlier this month, Pastor Brown asked if they really knew who they were, what their purpose in life was and their role and responsibility towards family, church, and society.

The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) in Costa Rica, together with its church member volunteers, descended on the city of Heredia in Costa Rica last month to offer food to the homeless, showcase a health expo, and promote a recycling campaign, among other activities. The event, which took place in Heredia’s Central Park, brought young people to connect with onlookers and passers-by with a hug, a cheer and activities like face painting for children.

Hundreds of students from across Seventh-day Adventist Schools marched and played their instruments during a band festival last week in Santa Ana, El Salvador.
Themed “Praising God with our talents,” the festival brought dozens of the 45 primary and secondary schools in the Central American nation to perform on their drums, trumpets, flutes, and cymbals in the city’s Central Plaza for a special program where the national anthem, pledge to the flag and a special prayer for Santa Ana were offered.
