In Inter-America, Congress promotes religious freedom across the region

The Seventh-day Adventist Church in Inter-America held it’s second religious liberty congress in the city of Medellin, Colombia, Mar. 18-19, 2015.

The conference gave church leaders in the Inter-American Division (IAD) territory the opportunity to talk about the importance of strengthening relations between church and state, as well as reinforcing the presence of the International Religious Liberty Association (IRLA) across the region.

Adventist young people in Inter-America engage in Global Youth Day

Thousands of Seventh-day Adventist young people in Inter-America engaged in a day of spreading kindness and hope in their communities and cities during the Global Youth Day initiative held on Mar. 21, 2015.

Sponsored by the Adventist world church’s youth ministries department, the Global Youth Day annual event motivates young people around the world to “be the sermon” as they show the love of Jesus in their communities.

Global Youth Day to take center stage in Inter-America this weekend

Seventh-day Adventist youth around the world will take to the streets of their cities and communities on Sabbath, March 21, 2015, to engage in a day of spreading kindness and hope. The special day designated as Global Youth Day, is sponsored by the General Conference’s youth ministries department and motivates young people to “be the sermon” as they show the love of Jesus in their communities.

Young people across Inter-America’s 24 major church regions are scheduled to share food and clothing, march for health, visit hospitals and nursing homes, donate blood, offer prayers in plazas, hold concerts in public areas, and much more.

In Inter-America, Church to collect offerings for youth–driven mission projects

Seventh-day Adventist churches across the Inter-American Division (IAD) will collect offerings every second Sabbath of the month for the next four months to go towards youth evangelism outreach projects.

The special collection comes after top world church leaders voted to empower young Adventists 25 and younger to be part of the planning, choosing, owning and implementing of life-changing outreach projects in their communities around the world.

SAC Interamérica awards communicators for their outstanding work

The Society of Adventist Communicators (SAC) Interamérica announced the winners of its various categories during a short ceremony held at the Inter-American Division headquarters, Mar. 5, 2015, in Miami, Florida. More than 60 communicators and media production specialists listened in as SAC Interamérica President Angela Barrios highlighted the society’s mission.

As an initiative of the communication department, in conjunction with the Society of Adventist Communicators of North America, the SAC Interamérica chapter strives to bring communicators and interested professionals together in supporting the mission of the church, said Barrios.

Church to launch three new television channels across Inter-America

The Seventh-day Adventist Church in Inter-America is preparing to embark on one of its most ambitious evangelism initiatives with the launch of three new satellite channels to broadcast across its populous territory.

The new channels will join the family of the church’s Hope Channel television network around the world in sharing the message of hope and salvation in the three major languages spoken in the Inter-American Division (IAD), Spanish, English, and French.

Inter-America launches its week of prayer strengthening pastoral families

Top Seventh-day Adventist leaders from the Inter-American Division (IAD) held a special program Friday night to launch the church’s territory-wide week of prayer focused on pastoral families. During the program, pastoral couples prayed and encouraged pastors and their families to take time to care and strengthen their families spiritually, mentally and physically.

The event, held at the IAD headquarter office in Miami, Florida, was carried live on the internet.

Inter-America to launch Pastoral Family Week of Prayer with online program

The Seventh-day Adventist Church in Inter-America will feature a special online program on Feb. 6 aimed at strengthening the more than 3,400 pastoral families across the territory at the start of the church’s pastoral family week of prayer.

The one-hour program will seek to encourage pastors and their families to pause and seek God together during the year, organizers said.

Inter-America launches the Year of the Pastor ordaining more than 100 ministers

The Seventh-day Adventist Church in the Inter-American Division launched its Year of the Pastor with the ordination of some 100 ministers during territory-wide coordinated ceremonies across the region on Sabbath, Jan. 17, 2015.

Some 26 Adventist ministers from the Dominican Republic were ordained in El Palacio de los Deportes Arena in Santo Domingo–the hub of the live event–where thousands of church leaders and members witnessed the ceremony.

Inter-America to ordain dozens of Adventist ministers across the territory

Dozens of Adventist ministers across the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Inter-America will be ordained on Jan. 17, 2015, during territory-wide coordinated ceremonies, which will launch the start of Inter-America’s Year of the Pastor during the next 11 months.

More than two dozen ministers will be ordained in El Palacio de los Deportes Arena in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, where more than 15,000 church leaders and members are expected to witness the event on Sabbath, Jan. 17. The event will be carried online in Spanish, English and French, beginning at 3:30pm Santo Domingo Time (or 2:30pm Miami Time).
